We are a U.S registered non-profit (501c3) working in Kurland Village, South Africa to improve the educational opportunities for Kurland’s Youth and the living conditions of its residence.

OUR PROGRAM

Education

Education is one of the focal points of our program. Since 2018 we have been offering educational support through refurbishing schools, giving English classes, providing homework help, tutoring, and financial assistance for supplies. Our program collects school supplies throughout the year that we then donate during every volunteer session. We believe education is the key to a community’s success and offering a free high level education and a support system is crucial to the future of not only Kurland Village, but the world as a whole.

In 2023 we signed our first lease on a building in Kurland where we run our after school community center. 50 weeks a year Kurland’s youth can come from 2:00-6:00pm and get free tutoring, homework assistance, and meals throughout the week. This is a space for Kurland’s youth to come learn and create with a caring staff and rotating volunteers.

Youth Development

The youth of Kurland Village are the future of Kurland Village. Youth development is a large part of our program simply because it’s a large issue in Kurland. We assist in after school sports programs, field days, arts and crafts, choir, chess, and most recently disc golf.

The picture to the right is of our founder Sam Fuller and longtime friend Taylor English celebrating with the kids after our disc golf session in March of 2022. We participate in soccer games, dodgeball, face painting, rugby, skateboarding, and yoga. We are always looking for new outlets for the children to explore and that’s why we introduced them to disc golf.

With the help of the local non profits and volunteers we’re able to give kids a place to go after school to develop their interests and just have fun.

Community Outreach

The community is our first priority and our program is based around that idea. Each volunteer session is developed to use the group’s talents and put them towards what the Kurland community needs most at that time. We set up our volunteer and work schedules in a way that allows us to employ 16+ people directly from Kurland Village which provides them a full day’s work and wages.

In 2022 we joined an active feeding program participating in weekly soup kitchens and as of 2024 we are supporting five soup kitchens feeding approximately 600 people a week. We are in the middle of our housing improvement project where we have renovated over 70 homes within the community.
